Ben Feistmann is a landscape designer, gardener, and graduate student in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at North Carolina State University.

Raised in South Florida and now based in Durham, North Carolina, his work is shaped by a lifelong fascination with plants, ecology, and the ways landscapes enrich everyday life. Drawing from experience in horticulture, permaculture, and landscape design, he creates landscapes that evoke awe, joy, and connection while fostering a strong sense of place.

His interests include ecological design, productive landscapes, vernacular place-making, and the integration of native and edible plants. Whether designing a residential garden, restoring habitat, or studying regional landscapes, he is guided by the belief that thoughtful design can transform ordinary spaces into meaningful landscapes.

Ben is currently pursuing a Master of Landscape Architecture at North Carolina State University's College of Design. Prior to beginning graduate studies, he earned a Bachelor of Philosophy from the University of Central Florida, completed a Permaculture Design Certification and two-year apprenticeship at the Center for Bioregional Living, and received a Landscape Design Certificate from the New York Institute of Art & Design.

His previous work includes residential landscape design throughout South Florida and collaborations with Permaculture Living Lands Trust, Native Choice Nursery, and GreenDreams. From 2022 to 2024, he served as President of the Palm Beach County Rare Fruit Council and has spoken at numerous community organizations and garden clubs throughout the region.
